…It was founded in January 1925, as a successor to the VAPP (All-Russian Association of Proletarian Writers) established in 1920. After the Communist Party Central Committee passed a resolution in June of the same year on the Party's policy in the field of literature, the leftist group led by Vardzin and others left the group, and the group was active under the general secretary LLAverbakh (also called Auerbach), with the theoretical journal RAPP and the biweekly critical magazine Literary Outpost. Its core members were Liberdinsky, Furmanov, Kirshon Vladimir Mikhailovich (1902-38), and later Fadeev and Ermilov Vladimir Vladimirovich Ermilov (1904-65). …
