Also, a mountain where a mountain burning has been carried out. 《Season・Spring》※Extant Rokujo (c. 1249-50) “Only the knots of the old branches remain, and the trees stand lonely, hatanoyakeyama (Fujiwara Nobuzane)”② a mountain that once erupted. ※Kabuki・Onbiki Asama Gentouga (1888), Act 2 “I had heard that Mount Asama was a burnt mountain that had once burned in the past.”[2][１] An active volcano on the border between Kazuno and Tazawako in northeastern Akita Prefecture. Part of Towada-Hachimantai National Park. Elevation 1,366 meters. [２] An active volcano on the border between Itoigawa and Myoko in southwestern Niigata Prefecture. One of the peaks in the Myoko volcanic group. A cone-shaped double volcano, part of Joshin'etsu-Kogen National Park. Altitude 2,400 meters.

[1] 〘名〙① 焼けている山。野火などで焼けた山。また、山焼きを行なった山。《季・春》※現存六帖（1249‐50頃）「ふる枝の節のみ残るうつを木の立てるもさびしはたのやけ山〈藤原信実〉」② かつて噴火した山。※歌舞伎・音聞浅間幻燈画（1888）二幕「浅間山は焼(ヤ)け山(ヤマ)にて昔燃え出た事があったと、かねて話に聞いてゐたが」[2][一] 秋田県北東部、鹿角市と田沢湖町との境にある活火山。十和田八幡平国立公園の一部。標高一三六六メートル。[二] 新潟県南西部、糸魚川市と妙高市との境にある活火山。妙高火山群の一峰。円錐状二重式火山で、上信越高原国立公園の一部。標高二四〇〇メートル。
