During this time, Clovis converted from Arianism to Catholicism, and after defeating the Visigothic king Aralic II at Vouillé in 507 and annexing Aquitaine, he moved the capital to Paris and convened a council at Orléans in 511. There are many different theories about Clovis's achievements, especially the time of his conversion, due to the difficulty of interpreting the descriptions in the basic historical source, Gregory of Tours' History of the Franks. …
