A town in Watarai County in central Mie Prefecture. A mountain village region occupying the eastern end of the Kii Mountains and the middle reaches of the Miyagawa River, producing cedar, cypress, shiitake mushrooms, and other crops. Tea cultivation is also thriving, with many tea factories. 134.98 km2 . 8,692 people (2010).
