Ankokugi

...Initially, under the reign of Emperor Wen of the Sui dynasty, seven types of folk music from the Six Dynasties and foreign music were combined to form a seven-part ensemble. These were Qingshang ensemble, Wenkang ensemble, and Kokugi, which included elements of Kuchi music from the folk music tradition, Kucha ensemble, Anguk (Bukhara) ensemble, and Tenjiku (Indian) ensemble from the Western Regions music tradition, and Goryeo (Goguryeo) ensemble from Korean music. Under the reign of the next Emperor Yang, Kokugi was renamed Xiliang ensemble and Wenkang ensemble was renamed Libi, and the two Western Regions music traditions of Shule (Kashgar) and Kangguo (Samarkand) were added to form a nine-part ensemble.
