A volcanic alluvial fan in the central north of Beppu City, Oita Prefecture. It spreads across the eastern foot of Mt. Ohira (Ougiyama, 792 meters), which is thought to be a remnant of the explosion of the former Tsurumi Stratified Volcano, and was formed by a mudflow from this former Tsurumi Stratified Volcano. The place's name is said to come from the fact that, during development, the rubble was removed and fences were built. In the Middle Ages, there was Ishigaki Sho, and in the early modern period, Ishigaki Village. In recent years, hot spring drilling and residential development have spread across the entire central fan, with only small areas of fields and pine forests remaining.
