A feudal lord in the early modern period. Azai Hidemasa's great-grandson Norimunesa became a lower-ranking official in Wakisaka Manor in Azai County, Omi Province, and is said to have taken the name Wakisaka. The fifth head of the clan, Yasuaki, was killed in the Battle of Kannonji in Omi Province in 1568 (Eiroku 11). His son Yasuharu served Toyotomi Hideyoshi and achieved many military feats, but defected to the Tokugawa side in the Battle of Sekigahara, and in 1609 (Keicho 14) was granted a fief of 53,000 koku in Ozu, Iyo Province. Yasuharu's son Yasumoto moved to Iida in Shinano Province in 1615 (Genwa 1), and his son Yasumasa moved to Tatsuno in Harima Province (Tatsuno Domain) with 53,000 koku in 1672 (Kanbun 12), and his descendants continued to make him a viscount until the Meiji period.
