June Uprising

An anti-government riot started by craftsmen and workers in Paris in June 1848. The February Revolution of that year established a republic, but the new government, after universal suffrage, dissolved the National Workshops (Atelier Nationau) because they were a financial burden and could become a breeding ground for rebellion.
