Egoism

Translated as "egoism," it generally refers to a negative attitude that focuses solely on the fulfillment of one's own desires and the pursuit of one's own interests. As opposed to "altruism." Etymologically, it should be called egoism, a way of thinking that holds that the complete realization of the self or one's own interests is the goal of human action and the foundation of all ethics.
