・Off-the-job training
- Education and training outside the workplace. This refers to education and training that is conducted away from daily work, such as group training, seminars, and correspondence courses. It is a very effective initiative in the sense that it provides an opportunity to acquire uniform knowledge that is not influenced by the situation at the workplace, but on the other hand, it may not be used effectively in terms of utilizing and applying it to actual work. Therefore, it is effective to conduct education and training in a comprehensive manner from the three perspectives of OJT, Off-JT, and self-development.

・職場外での教育訓練。特に集合研修、講習会、通信教育等、日常の業務を離れて行う教育訓練のことを言う。現場の状況に左右されない、均一な知識習得の機会を提供する意味で非常に効果的な取り組みであるが、一方で現業への活用・応用において効果的に用いられない場合もある。したがって、OJT、Off- JT、自己啓発の3つの視点で複合的に教育訓練行うことが効果的である。
