Board title - Upkeep

A type of collar for clothing. It is a so-called stand-up collar, with a round neck that encircles the neck. It is also seen in the clothing of haniwa clay figurines of people from the Kofun period. Also, the outerwear of the Iranian-style Tang-style clothing of the Nara period, called hou (robe) or ao (fusuma), and the outerwear such as sokutai (sokutai) and ikan (crown) that were Japaneseized in the Heian period, such as hou (robe), noshi (robe), kariginu (garbage), suikan (suikan), kachie (brown garment), taiko (red garment), and hakucho (white garment), are of the banryo style. In contrast to banryo, a collar that hangs diagonally or vertically is called tarikubi (drop collar). Generally, banryo was used for outerwear, while tarikubi was used for innerwear and undergarments.
