An archipelago in the southwest Pacific Ocean, stretching from northwest to southeast, about 100 km east of New Caledonia. In French it is called the Loyalte Islands. The main islands are Rif, Mare, and Ouvéa. Most of the islands are low-lying coral reefs, and copra is the main product of the archipelago. It is part of the French territory of New Caledonia.
