Imperial Insurance Law (English: Reichsversicherungsordnung)

Imperial Insurance Law (English: Reichsversicherungsordnung)
Germany's unified social insurance legislation was enacted in 1911, adding survivor's insurance to the sickness, accident, and invalidity insurance established in the 1880s. It is also translated as the German Social Insurance Act. The law is made up of six parts, three of which are for sickness, accident, and pension insurance, and the remaining parts are for general provisions and common regulations. The content of the law has been revised many times since then, but the structure has remained almost the same to this day. The aim of the law was to unify the legal provisions and competent authorities related to workers' insurance, but at the same time, improvements were made to the system, such as the introduction of survivor's insurance and the expansion of the scope of application.
