Judicial Statistics

Japanese: 司法統計 - しほうとうけい

A general term for statistics related to civil, criminal, and administrative trials, as well as other national law enforcement. Statistical publications related to the acceptance and processing of trials are published once a year by the Supreme Court Secretariat in the Annual Report of Judicial Statistics, divided into 1. Civil and Administrative, 2. Criminal, 3. Domestic, and 4. Juvenile sections (first published in 1952. The Ministry of Justice's Annual Report of Civil Statistics and Annual Report of Criminal Statistics were published in 1875). In addition, for legal and litigation-related matters, the Ministry of Justice's Judicial Legislation Research Department publishes the Annual Report of Civil, Litigation, and Human Rights Statistics (the Ministry of Justice's Annual Report of Registration Statistics has been published since 1887, but was renamed the Annual Report of Registration, Litigation, and Human Rights Statistics in 1962).

民事，刑事，行政の裁判その他，国の法執行に関する統計の総称。裁判の受理･処理状況に関する統計書は，最高裁判所事務総局から，司法統計年報が，1.民事･行政編，2.刑事編，3.家事編，4.少年編に分けて，年1回発行されている(1952年発刊。古くは，1875年より刊行された司法省民事統計年報，刑事統計年報があった)。その他，法務･訟務関係では，法務省司法法制調査部から民事･訟務･人権統計年報が出されている(司法省登記統計年報は1887年より刊行されたが1962年に登記･訟務･人権統計年報と改称。
