June 10th Manzai Movement

Japanese: 六･一〇万歳運動 - ろくじゅうばんざいうんどう

An independence demonstration held on June 10, 1926, at the funeral of King Sunjong, the last king of the Joseon Dynasty. The Korean Communist Party, which was formed in 1925, planned to use Sunjong's funeral as an opportunity to raise a voice for national liberation, and made preparations by calling on students and Cheondo devotees, but the plan was discovered just before it was released and the Communist Party was suppressed. However, students who escaped arrest shouted "Long live independence" in various parts of Seoul on June 10, clashing with the authorities. Students who had no contact with the Communist Party also demonstrated, and about 200 people were arrested. Although it did not spread to the provinces, it was important as a national liberation movement in the mid-1920s, especially in that the Communist Party tried to form a national united front.

1926年6月10日，朝鮮の李朝最後の王純宗の葬儀に際して行われた独立示威運動。1925年に結成された朝鮮共産党は純宗の葬儀を機会に民族解放の声をあげることを計画，学生や天道教徒に呼びかけて準備を進めたが，直前に発覚，共産党は弾圧された。しかし検挙を逃れた学生らは6月10日当日，ソウル市内各所で〈独立万歳〉を叫んで官憲と衝突，共産党と連絡をもたない学生による示威も行われ約200名が逮捕された。地方には波及しなかったが，20年代半ばの民族解放運動として，特に共産党が民族統一戦線を組もうとした点で重要である。
