Sixty ri crossing

Japanese: 六十里越 - ろくじゅうりごえ

A pass that crosses the Echigo Mountains on the border between Fukushima and Niigata prefectures. It is 863m above sea level. The name comes from the fact that the distance from Tagokura in Tadami Town, Fukushima Prefecture to Oshirakawa in Uonuma City, Niigata Prefecture is 60 ri, with 6 cho (approximately 650m) counted as 1 ri. Along with Yashiro Pass, it has long been considered a difficult place to pass, but now National Route 252 and the JR Tadami Line pass through it via a tunnel. It is included in the Echigo Sanzan Tadami Quasi-National Park.

福島県と新潟県の境，越後山脈を越える峠。標高 863m。地名は福島県只見町田子倉から新潟県魚沼市大白川まで，6町 (約 650m) を1里と計算して 60里の道程があることによる。八十里越とともに古くから難所とされたが，現在はトンネルで国道 252号線と JR只見線が通る。越後三山只見国定公園に含まれる。
