A rare perennial plant of the Umbelliferae family that grows in wetlands (illustration). It is also called Obazeri. In addition to fibrous roots, there are partially thickened storage roots underground that store nutrients. The plant is hairless overall, and the stem is about 30 cm tall, with some branching at the top. The leaves are pinnately compound with petioles, alternate on the stem, and there are 7 to 9 leaflets that are roughly ovate and 1 to 3 cm long. In May and June, compound umbels are produced at the ends of the branches, and small white flowers bloom. There are several elongated involucres at the base of the inflorescence. The flowers are white with 5 petals and no developed calyx. Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
