Labor Song - Labor Song

Japanese:
Labor Song - Labor Song

Songs associated with the labor movement, and are distinct from work songs. Labor songs reflect the class struggle and revolutionary ideas of workers, and are characterized by their powerful or tragic melodies and lyrics, and are often sung in a group. They are further classified as fight songs, revolutionary songs, anti-war songs, and memorial songs. Such content and form increase the sense of solidarity of the group and inspire the fighting spirit. An early example is La Marseillaise (1792), created during the French Revolution, and later the internationally renowned Internationale (1888) and Warsawianka (Warsaw Workers' Song) (1883) have been spread and passed down across borders. Many new songs have been created, including solo protest songs that are part of the North American folk song movement, the "new song" of South American folklore, such as Unyielding People (written by Kirapa Jun), and songs from the Japanese "singing movement."
