A regional workers' organization in Italy. It was first established in Milan in 1891 for the purpose of introducing workers to jobs and providing technical education, and then spread to other cities, but it quickly surpassed its original purpose and took on the character of a regional workers' struggle organization. This labor chamber, which organized workers by region rather than by industry, was often called the "Comune of the Workers," and was a characteristic of the Italian labor movement from the 19th century to the early 20th century.
