Revilla Gigedo Islands (English spelling)

Japanese: レビヤ･ヒヘド[諸島]（英語表記）Islas Revilla Gigedo

An uninhabited volcanic archipelago in Mexico in the North Pacific Ocean south of the California Peninsula. Total area is about 830 km2. From east to west, the islands are San Benedict Island, Socorro Island, Roca Partida Island, and Clarion Island, stretching for 450 km. The largest island, Socorro Island, has an area of 170 km2. It is located 450 km south of the California Peninsula. Trees grow on Socorro Island and Clarion Island. The surrounding area is a good fishing ground and also serves as a navigational landmark.
