On the other hand, the origin of the English word "library" comes from the Latin word "liber," which means bark, while the English word "bibliotheca," the German word "Bibliothek," and the French word "bibliothèque" all come from the Greek word "bibliothēkē" (biblion (book) + thēkē (place)). The word "biblion" comes from Byblos, a trading port of papyrus in Asia Minor, which is also the origin of words such as "Bible."
