378 koro-454 A Christian thinker who represents early Monophysitism. He served as the abbot of a monastery (name unknown) in Constantinople and wielded influence at the imperial court. In reaction to the teachings of Nestorius, he taught that the divinity and humanity of the incarnate Christ became one after their union, and that the humanity was absorbed into the divinity. In 448 he was accused of heresy and dismissed by a synod. He was reinstated at the Synod of Robbers in 449, but was officially condemned and expelled as a heretic at the Council of Chalcedon (451).
