The former name of a province in China. It was established in 1949 and governed the area roughly equivalent to the western half of present-day Liaoning Province, but was abolished in 1954. At the same time, Siping City and Shuangliao and Lishu counties were incorporated into Jilin Province, and the remaining area was merged with most of Liaodong Province to form Liaoning Province.
