Liaoxi Province - Liaoxi Province (English spelling)

The former name of a province in China. It was established in 1949 and governed the area roughly equivalent to the western half of present-day Liaoning Province, but was abolished in 1954. At the same time, Siping City and Shuangliao and Lishu counties were incorporated into Jilin Province, and the remaining area was merged with most of Liaodong Province to form Liaoning Province. 中国の旧省名。1949年に設置され，ほぼ現在の遼寧省西半にあたる地域を管轄していたが，1954年に廃止された。同時に四平市と双遼，梨樹の両県は吉林省に編入，残余の地区は遼東省の大部分と合併，遼寧省が設けられた。【河野 通博】
