Old and young people's association - Rosokai

Japanese: 老壮会 - ろうそうかい

A nationalist group founded in October 1918. It marked the first step in the transformation of Japan's right-wing movement from an old-fashioned nationalist movement to a modern fascist movement. It was a social research group that served as a base for people of all ages and affiliations, with participants including Sakai Toshihiko, Takabatake Motoyuki, Shimonaka Yasaburo, and Takao Heibei from the left, and Kita Ikki, Okawa Shumei, and Gondo Shigeyoshi from the right. The Association of Old Men itself only held monthly meetings and lectures and did not do much, but it is notable for having given birth to many progressive nationalist groups afterwards. It naturally dissolved in 1921.

1918年 10月に創立されたナショナリスト団体。日本の右翼運動が旧式な国粋運動から近代的ファシズム運動へ転換する第一歩となった。年齢の老壮，翼の左右を問わない各派の足溜り的な社会研究団体で，左翼派から，堺利彦，高畠素之，下中弥三郎，高尾平兵衛ら，右翼派からは，北一輝，大川周明，権藤成卿らが参加した。老壮会自体としては月1回の集会，講演会を開く程度で，あまり大きな動きはなかったが，その後多くの革新派ナショナリスト団体を生み出した点に特徴がある。 21年に自然解消した。
