Sulfur vat dye - Ryukatatezomesenryo (English spelling)

Japanese: 硫化建染染料 - りゅうかたてぞめせんりょう（英語表記）sulfur vat dye

A type of sulfur dye, it is reduced with alkaline hydrosulfite NaOH + _Na2S2O4 during dyeing. In general, many _of them have better color tone and fastness than sulfur dyes. A representative dye is Hydron Blue (CIVat Blue ₄₃ ), which is produced by melting carbazole indophenol, sodium sulfide _Na2S , and sulfur S in ethyl alcohol. It dyes cellulose fibers such as cotton a deep blue color using a dyeing method similar to that of vat dyes. Its chemical structure is thought to be a complex polycondensation of carbazole indophenol.

硫化染料の一種で，染色の際アルカリ性ハイドロサルファイトNaOH＋Na₂S₂O₄で還元して染める染料。一般に硫化染料より色調，堅牢度などが優れたものが多い。その代表的な染料はヒドロンブルー(C.I.Vat Blue 43)で，カルバゾールインドフェノール，硫化ナトリウムNa₂S，硫黄Sをエチルアルコール中で融解して製造する。木綿などセルロース繊維を建染染料と同様な染法で濃青色に染める。化学構造は，カルバゾールインドフェノールが複雑に重縮合したものと思われる。
