Ghost story actor

...He was born in Osaka and became a disciple of Onoe Kikugorou in 1755 (5th year of the Horeki era), and in 1861 he became Onoe Matsusuke. In July 1804 (1st year of the Bunka era), he had a big hit with a quick change in "Tenjiku Tokubei Kokubanashi" at the Kawarazaki Theater, and formed a pair with the author Tsuruya Nanboku IV, earning the nickname of ghost story actor. His other roles included Iwafuji in "Kagamiyama Kokyo no Nishikie"...
