[Born] Junki 7 (1180). [Died] 25th February 1251. A physician from the Yuan Dynasty of China, one of the four great masters of the Jin and Yuan Dynasties. He studied medicine under Zhang Yuan. His pen name was Mingzhi, and he was called Dongyuan. One of his disciples was Luo Tianyi. He lived in Liang and Dongping for a time, but returned home in 1224. He believed that the key to treating illnesses was to nourish the spleen and stomach, and was therefore known as the To-To school or the Wen-To school. He was also known as Zhu Zhenheng and was known as Li-Zhu medicine. He wrote many books, including The Treatise on the Spleen and Stomach.
