Hayashi phase

…When nuclear reactions finally begin in the center of the star, the star settles into a state similar to the present sun (main sequence star). This process of contraction of a protostar was proposed by Chushiro Hayashi in 1962 and is called the Hayashi phase. The following stars have been observed as newborn stars:
