Ladder - Unate

A district of Kashihara City in the central-western part of Nara Prefecture. A rice paddy farming district located in the bend of the Soga River in the western part of the city. There is Kashihara Sports Park, and national highways 24 and 165 pass through the area. It is identified with Untei-go, Takaichi County, in the Wamyōshō. In the Man'yōshō, it is written as Unamete, and there are poems such as "I will write the roots of the reeds of the shrine (forest) of Unamete, where the dwarf birds live, on my clothes and dress them in them" (Volume 7) and "If you say you are thinking of something you do not think of, the gods of the forest (forest) of Unamete, where the dwarf birds live, will let you know" (Volume 12).

奈良県中西部、橿原(かしはら)市の一地区。市西部の曽我(そが)川曲流部に位置する水田農業地区。橿原運動公園があり、国道24号、165号が通じる。『和名抄(わみょうしょう)』の高市郡雲梯郷に比定される。『万葉集』では卯名手と記され、「真鳥住む卯名手の神社(もり)の菅(すが)の根を衣に書きつけ着せむ子もがも」（巻7）「思はぬを思ふといはば真鳥住む卯名手の杜(もり)の神し知らさむ」（巻12）と詠まれている。
