Jiang Yiyuan Mountain Village

...The general name for the villages and villages in the Toyama River basin (a tributary of the Tenryu River) at the southern end of the Shimoina region of Nagano Prefecture. The first appearance of the place name Toyama was in the entry for March 12, 1186 (Bunji 2) in the Azuma Kagami, where it is written "Egi Toyamasho", and in the February 1578 (Tensho 6) document for Takeda Katsuyori's construction of a shrine, it is written that the construction of the Suwa Shrine Kamisha was entrusted to the Toyamanogo Magistrate. Toyamago seems to have referred to the area including the present Kamimura, Minamishinanomura, and Tenryumura villages, and this did not change throughout the Edo period, but today it refers to the area of ​​Kamimura and Minamishinanomura.

…長野県下伊那地方南端の遠山川(天竜川の支流)流域一帯の郷村の総称。《吾妻鏡》文治2年(1186)3月12日の条に〈江儀遠山庄〉とあるのが遠山の地名の初出で，1578年(天正6)2月の武田勝頼造宮手形には諏訪社上社造営を遠山之郷代官に勤仕させたとある。遠山郷は現在の上村，南信濃村，天竜村を含む地域をさしていたらしく，これは江戸時代を通して変わらなかったが，今日では上村と南信濃村一帯をいうようになっている。…
