Sunset - Higure

This is the time when the depression angle of the center of the sun is 7 degrees, 21 minutes, and 40 seconds. During the Edo period, before the "Horeki calendar," dusk was the time when two and a half hours of twilight (36 minutes in modern time) was added to the time of sunset, but after the "Kansei calendar," the amount of twilight was not fixed, and the depression angle of the sun at two and a half hours after sunset on the vernal and autumnal equinoxes in Kyoto was defined as the depression angle of the sun at twilight. This calculation gives 7 degrees, 21 minutes, and 40 seconds, which roughly corresponds to the time around the end of common twilight.

太陽の中心の俯角(ふかく)が7度21分40秒にあたる時刻である。江戸時代、「宝暦(ほうれき)暦」以前は、日暮れは日の入り時刻に昏明(こんめい)分二刻半（現在の時間で36分）を加えた時刻であったが、「寛政(かんせい)暦」以後は、昏明分を一定としないで、京都で春分・秋分の日に日の入り後二刻半における太陽の俯角をもって昏明時の太陽の俯角と定めた。これを計算すると7度21分40秒となり、常用薄明の終わりころの時刻にほぼ相当する。
