Born: 1611, Rome
Died in 1691. Roman Italian architect. Son of the architect Girolamo (1570-1655), he developed his father's Northern Italian Mannerist style into a grander Baroque style. His major works were the façade of Sant'Andrea della Balle (61-65) and Santa Maria in Campitelli (63-67). His last important work was the great façade of Santa Maria Maggiore (73), connecting the old apse (73) with the chapels of Sixtus V and VI.
