The force exerted by two or more substances on each other. There are four basic types of interactions between substances: gravitational interaction (gravity), electromagnetic interaction (electromagnetic force), weak interaction (weak force), and strong interaction (strong force). In order of strength, the interactions are strong interaction, electromagnetic interaction, weak interaction, and gravitational interaction. All of these interactions are thought to be mediated by particles with spin 1 (spin 2 in the case of gravitational interaction) called gauge particles. …
