Yoshioka [Hot Springs] - Yoshioka

Japanese: 吉岡[温泉] - よしおか

This hot spring is located in a valley 2km south of Lake Koyama in the western part of Tottori City, Tottori Prefecture. Simple spring water, 30-55°C. It is a quiet hot spring located at the northwest foot of Mt. Minokami, where the castle of Yoshioka Shogen, a brave general during the Warring States period, was located, and was discovered as early as the 10th century. The surrounding geology is granite, and the hot spring is thought to have bubbled up along cracks in faults and other structures. It has been designated a national hot spring. [Teshima Yoshinori]

鳥取県鳥取市西部，湖山（こやま）池南方2kmの谷間に位置する温泉。単純泉，30～55℃。戦国期の勇将吉岡将監の居城のあった箕上（みのかみ）山の北西麓にある静かな温泉で，発見は古く10世紀ごろにさかのぼる。付近の地質は花コウ岩で，温泉は断層などの割れ目に沿って湧出していると考えられている。国民温泉に指定されている。【豊島吉則】
