Alaska type glacier

…Hanging glaciers are small glaciers that cling to steep slopes, and can drop further down to form regenerated glaciers (Turkestan-type glaciers). They are named according to their size, such as cirque glaciers that are contained within cirque formations formed during the ice age, valley glaciers that form cirques at the head of the valley and flow down the valley (Alpine-type glaciers), and foothill glaciers (Alaskan-type glaciers) where several valley glaciers join together and reach the plains at the foot of the mountain. Although they are much smaller than continental glaciers, there are also cases where the entire mountain range is covered by glaciers like a cap, and they are called ice cap glaciers. …
