This light theater troupe was founded in 1929 at the Aquarium Entertainment Hall in Asakusa, Tokyo, after the era of the Asakusa Opera had ended. Its actors included Kenichi Enomoto (Enoken), Morie Ishida, Zeko Nakamura, and Ryuko Umezono (a dancer), and its literary club included Ryuzo Shimamura and Hisao Yamada. They performed skits that combined song, dance, and comedy to satirize current affairs, and gained popularity by performing at the "erotic, grotesque, nonsense era." In the following year, 1930, Enoken left the troupe to form the New Casino Folies, and in 1933, Morie Ishida and the others' Casino Folies disbanded.
