Isazamemi - Isazamemi

A small aquatic animal belonging to the family Mysidae, class Crustacea, order Mysidae, phylum Arthropoda. It is widely distributed from Japan, Siberia, Alaska, Canada to Washington state in the United States, and lives in marine lakes and brackish waters. It is about 1 cm long and has a typical mysid body shape, with a rounded front end of the cephalothorax. The telson segment is a rounded long triangle with about 20 spines along the side edge and a pair of long and short spines at the end. Along with the closely related species Kuroisazaami and Nihonisazaami, it is used for food such as tsukudani (food boiled in soy sauce). It is also processed into fishing bait and animal feed.

節足動物門甲殻綱アミ目アミ科に属する水生小動物。日本、シベリア、アラスカ、カナダからアメリカ合衆国ワシントン州まで広く分布し、海跡湖沼や汽水域に生息している。体長1センチメートルほどで、典型的なアミ類の体制を示し、頭胸甲の前端が丸い。尾節は丸みのある長三角形で、側縁に約20本のとげが並び、末端には長短1対ずつのとげがある。近縁種のクロイサザアミやニホンイサザアミとともに、佃煮(つくだに)などの食用とされる。また、釣りの撒き餌(まきえ)や飼料にも加工される。
