Yoshioka [town] - Yoshioka

Japanese: 吉岡[町] - よしおか

A town in Kitagunma County, central Gunma Prefecture. It occupies the eastern foot of Mt. Haruna, with the Tone River flowing south along its eastern edge. The main settlement is Shimonoda. Since the completion of the Gunma Irrigation Canal Haruna Main Line in 1969, land reclamation has progressed. The former sericulture industry has been converted into greenhouse vegetable cultivation and livestock farming. Grapes and dried potatoes are also produced. The Kan'etsu Expressway passes through the town. 20.46 ^km2 . Population 19,801 (2010).

群馬県中央部，北群馬郡の町。榛名(はるな)山東麓を占め，東端を利根川が南流。中心集落は下野田。1969年群馬用水榛名幹線完成以後開田が進む。かつての養蚕業は野菜のハウス栽培や畜産などに転換。ブドウ，乾燥イモも産する。関越自動車道が通る。20.46km²。１万9801人（2010）。
