Ghost jellyfish - Cyanea nozakii

Japanese: ユウレイクラゲ(幽霊水母) - ユウレイクラゲ（英語表記）Cyanea nozakii

A coelenterate (cnidaria) of the family Cylindrica (Scylindrica) (illustration). In the Seto Inland Sea, it is called Hagetobe or Maede. It is common in the Seto Inland Sea in summer, but can sometimes be caught in Sagami Bay in winter. The cap is 15-30 cm in diameter, flat and disc-shaped, milky white, with brown spots scattered on the upper surface. The edge of the cap is divided into 16 marginal petals, and many tentacles emerge from the entire edge, with a total of eight sensory organs on the medial and medial axes. There is a mouth in the center of the lower cap, and four oral arms that are wide and have complex folds around the mouth.

ハチクラゲ(鉢水母)綱ユウレイクラゲ科の腔腸動物(刺胞動物)（イラスト）。瀬戸内海ではハゲトベ，マエデなどと呼ばれる。夏に瀬戸内海に多いが，冬に相模湾でとれることがある。傘は直径15～30cmの扁平な円盤状で乳白色，上面に褐色の斑点が散在する。傘の縁は16個の縁弁に分かれ，全縁から多くの触手がでており，正軸と間軸に合計8個の感覚器をもっている。下傘の中央に口があり，口を中心にして幅が広く複雑なひだになっている4本の口腕がある。
