Years of birth: Years of birth and death unknown. A jiuta and sokyoku performer from the mid- to late Edo period. He was active in Osaka from the Tenmei era (1781-89). The name "Minezaki" appears among the skilled singers listed in "Kyojitsuyanagikohogen" (1794). He composed many songs for the jiuta sangen and sangentemono that showcase instrumental techniques, including "Yuki" (Snow), "Kosunoto", "Sodekoro", "Betsusekai" and "Sode no Tsuyu" (Sode dew), and many other famous pieces that are still popular today, including "Zangetsu", "Echigojishi", "Azumajishi" and "Tamatsubaki". He was a pupil of Toyoga Kengyo, known as the "master of long song with a single bullet", and "Sodekoro" was a memorial piece for his teacher. He was one of the editors of the Osaka-style jiuta songbook "Shin Taisei Ito no Shirabe", published in 1801 (Kyowa 1).
