Kairan Tanden - Kairan Tanden

Kai Luan is pronounced Kai Luan in the original language. It is a coalfield located in Tangshan, Hebei Province, about 180 km east of Beijing, China. The coal-bearing layer is about 500 meters thick, and is mainly composed of coal beds from the Permian period of the Paleozoic era, but there are also coal beds from the Jurassic period of the Mesozoic era. The mining area is about 670 square kilometers, with 30 coal beds (9 of which are recoverable), and the thickness of the coal beds is 1.0 to 4.0 meters. It produces strong caking bituminous coal, and the confirmed coal reserves are estimated to be 7.1 billion tons. As of 2003, there were eight large coal mines, all of which are underground. The annual production is about 19.18 million tons (2000). There are seven other coalfields in Hebei Province, including Fengfeng, Jingxi, and Jingxing, but the production volume of each is less than half that of the Kaiguan coalfield.

開灤は原語読みで「カイロワン」という。中国、北京(ペキン)の東約180キロメートル、河北(かほく／ホーペイ)省唐山(とうざん／タンシャン)にある炭田。夾炭(きょうたん)層は約500メートルの厚さがあり、古生代ペルム紀の炭層を主体とするが、中生代ジュラ紀の炭層も発達している。鉱区面積は約670平方キロメートル、炭層数30枚（うち可採9枚）、炭層厚1.0～4.0メートル。強粘結性瀝青炭(れきせいたん)を産し、確認埋蔵炭量は71億トンと推定されている。2003年時点で大きな炭鉱は八つあり、いずれも坑内掘りを行っている。年生産量は約1918万トン（2000）。河北省にはこのほか峰峰、京西、井陘(せいけい)など七つの炭田があるが、生産量はいずれも開灤炭田の半分以下である。
