Born December 1, 1879. She was deceived in America and fell into a world of hardship. She escaped to an asylum and married Yamada Yoshikichi. She returned to Japan in 1906 and appealed for respect for motherhood in magazines such as "Seito", debating with Yosano Akiko. In 1934, she became the first chairperson of the Women's League for the Promotion of the Establishment of the Maternity Protection Law. After the war, she devoted herself to the rehabilitation of prostitutes. She passed away on September 6, 1957, at the age of 77. She was born in Kanagawa Prefecture. Her maiden name was Asaba.
