Shuo-fu (English spelling)

Japanese: 説郛 - せっぷ（英語表記）Shuo-fu

A Chinese series of books. Compiled by Tao Zongyi in the late Yuan and early Ming dynasties. 100 volumes. A compilation of 1000 less orthodox books, including miscellaneous histories, essays, and written novels. For a long time, it was circulated in manuscript form, and in 1927 Zhang Zongxiang collated some of them and published them as the Mingshohon Shuohin, a collection of 725 books. In addition to this, the Chongqing Shuohin was published during the Tianqi and Chongzhen periods in the late Ming dynasty, containing 1364 books, using woodblocks from Ming dynasty series such as the Reorganized Hundred Rivers Study Sea, the Continued Hundred Rivers Study Sea, the Guang Hundred Rivers Study Sea, the Guang Han Wei Series, and the Five Dynasties Novels. The content of the Shuohin is quite different from that of the Mingshohon. Shuohin often refers to these two series, and both contain valuable materials not found anywhere else.

中国の叢書。元末明初の陶宗儀の編。 100巻。雑史，随筆，筆記小説など，あまり正統でない書物 1000種を抄録して編纂した書。長く写本で伝わり，そのいくつかを 1927年に張宗祥が校合し 725種の書を収めて『明鈔本説郛』として出版した。これとは別に，『重編百川 (ひゃくせん) 学海』『続百川学海』『広百川学海』『広漢魏叢書』『五朝小説』などの明代叢書の版木を利用して 1364種を収めた『重較 (ちょうこう) 説郛』が明末の天啓，崇禎年間に出版され，明鈔本とはかなり内容を異にする。『説郛』とはこの2種の系統をさすことが多く，いずれもほかにみられない貴重な資料を含んでいる。
