A former town in Toyota County in southern Hiroshima Prefecture. Most of the area is hilly, with a narrow plain on the coast. The Kure Line runs through the town. In addition to rice, mandarin oranges, grapes, and peaches are cultivated. The town also manufactures automobile and machine parts. In March 2005, the towns of Ondo, Kurahashi, and Kamagari in Aki County, and Toyohama and Toyo Towns in Toyota County were incorporated into Kure City. Area: 63.53 km2 . Population: 12,973 (2003). 広島県南部，豊田郡の旧町。大部分が丘陵地で，海岸に狭い平地がある。呉線が通じる。米作のほか，ミカン，ブドウ，モモを栽培する。自動車部品，機械部品加工などの製造業も行う。2005年３月安芸郡音戸町，倉橋町，蒲刈町，豊田郡豊浜町，豊町と呉市へ編入。63.53km2。１万2973人（2003）。
