Year of birth: Year of birth unknown. An official in the Nara period. In 738, he became the head of the Left Guard, but in 739, he was implicated in the Fujiwara no Hirotsugu Rebellion, imprisoned in Heijo-kyo, and exiled to Mishima in Kamo County, Izu Province (possibly Oshima-cho, Tokyo). In 740, he was pardoned and given the rank of Junior Fifth Rank, Lower Grade, and the following year he was made Jibu Shoyu, and in 757, he was made Junior Fifth Rank Upper Grade. However, he seems to have participated in the Tachibana Naramaro Rebellion again, and was reported to by Nakae no Toneri Kamimichi Hitamiya, who captured him by soldiers under Fujiwara no Nakamaro. After being imprisoned in the Left Guard, he was tortured and died under the rod. His official position at the time was said to be the governor of Bizen Province. He was an unfortunate man who was involved in rebellions twice and punished.

奈良時代の官人。天平10(738)年,左兵衛率となったが,13年には藤原広嗣の乱に連座して,平城京内の獄舎にとらわれ,伊豆国賀茂郡の三島(東京都大島町か)に配流された。18年,許されて従五位下に叙位,翌年には治部少輔,天平勝宝9(757)年には従五位上となった。しかし再び橘奈良麻呂の乱に参加したらしく,中衛舎人上道斐太都に密告され,藤原仲麻呂配下の兵に捕らえられた。左衛士府に禁固ののち,拷問をうけ杖下に死んだ。そのときの官職は備前国守だったという。2度も反乱事件に巻き込まれ罰せられた不遇の人物。
