Radiation is usually translated as "emission" or "radiation," and there are various interpretations as to whether it refers to electromagnetic waves of all wavelengths, electromagnetic waves in the range known as light, or electromagnetic waves in the invisible range of light excluding the visible range. However, the word "radiation" is now often used to mean electromagnetic waves in the light range. Therefore, a radiation detector is synonymous with a photodetector. Note that this is different from a radiation detector. Photodetector [Minami Shigeo] Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
