An island in the Seto Inland Sea in the southeastern part of Yamaguchi Prefecture. With little flat land, mandarin orchards and rice terraces are built on the mountainside in a stepped pattern, making it known as the home of Yamaguchi mandarin oranges. There are many people who go out to work, and it is a pioneering area for Hawaiian immigrants. The Oshima Bridge was opened in 1976. The area is 129.7 square kilometers. Oshima. Suo-Oshima.
