[Died] 1170.1. Kaifeng, China. Taoist priest of the Jin Dynasty. Name was Tetsu. Style name was Zhiming. Pen name was Chongyangzi. Born in Xianyang, Shaanxi Province. Founded Quanzhen Sect, a new Taoism that combined Confucianism, Taoism, Buddhism. He read the Book of Filial Piety, Tao Te Ching, and Heart Sutra, and preached that filial piety should be sincere and honest. Written works include Chongyang Quanzhen Shu, Chongyang Kyoka Shu, and Chongyang Fenri Shihua Shu.
