The highest peak in the European Alps. It is 4,807 meters above sea level. It is located on the border between France and Italy. The French side has a beautiful snowy mountain shape, as its name suggests, while the Italian side has rugged rock ridges and ice walls. Its Italian name is Monte Bianco. It is relatively easy to climb from the French side, but the Italian side has the largest and most difficult routes in the Alps, and only experienced climbers can do it. It was first climbed on August 8, 1786. Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
