Born on February 27, 1899. Became a director at PCL Film Productions in 1933, and when Toho Film was established through a merger in 1937, he was put in charge of the production department. He later became managing director and vice president. He introduced the American producer system, bringing about the modernization of the film industry. He passed away on May 14, 1979, at the age of 80. He was from Kanagawa Prefecture. He dropped out of Seikei Technical College.
